(nee Herr), age 56 of Centerville, OH, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001. She was a graduate of Mother of Mercy High School in 1962, College of Mt. St. Joseph in 1966 and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh in 1972, working in public and private practice. Mary Jo was an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church teaching elementary and developmentally disabled children in the PREP Program, distributed communion to the homebound, prepared meals for the homeless and was active with many other charitable organizations. Survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph; 6 children, Sheila, John, Tina, Becky, David and Katie; her parents, Jake and Jean Herr of Cincinnati; a sister, Peggy Figurel of Hamilton; 2 brothers, Michael J. and Martin J. Herr, both of Cincinnati; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday in the Incarnation Catholic Church, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville, Ohio. Entombment in David's Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2-6:00 P.M., Sunday in the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The St. Vincent DePaul Society, C/O Incarnation Church, corner of Williamsburg Lane and Far Hills Ave., Centerville, Ohio 45459. Mary Jo was a selfless servant and friend to the Lord, her husband, children, parents, family and everyone she met. She had a gift for reaching out to people, always listening, never judging. Mary Jo was a lover of life with a special appreciation for everything beautiful.
