GHORY, Mary L. (Vollman), age 76, of St. Leonard's Community, passed peacefully the morning of September 4, 2004 at Bethany Lutheran Village. Mary was born on February 23, 1928 to Rudolph and Claire (LeSaint) Vollman. She is preceeded in death by her parents and brother, Rudolph W. Vollman, MD. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James E. Ghory, children James E. Ghory, Jr. (Susan) of Kettering, William J. Ghory (Kathy) of Delray Beach, FL., M. Jayne Tritschler (Walter) of Beavercreek, Therese L. Gibble (Paul) of Centerville and Janet M. Huelsman (Thomas) of Springboro; siblings John H. Vollman, MD (Ellen) of Akron, M. Jane Oberschmidt (Ervin) of Cincinnati, and sister-in-law Carole Vollman of Needham, MA. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; April and James E. Ghory, III, Jillian Ghory, Kevin (Kelli) and Sarah Tritschler, Anne, Laura and David Gibble, and Stephanie and Thomas J. Huelsman Jr.. She is additionally survived by many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Mary was a graduate of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Cincinnati and a former instructor and counselor for the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton. She retired from St. Elizabeth in 1992 as Infectious Disease Coordinator, after 30 years of dedicated service. At the time of her death, Mary worked part time as a receptionist at the office of Endodontics South. She was an active volunteer in the St. Leonard community, former member of Precious Blood and St. Augustine (Waynesville) parishes and renown for her nursing knowledge and active and giving spirit. Mary will be sorely missed by those that knew her. The family wishes to thank Terry Burns, Dr. Stephen McDonald and the staff of Kettering Medical Center for their kindness and care. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 9, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, with Father Lawrence Mierenfeld presiding. Internment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Benevolent Fund of St. Leonard's, 8100 Clyo Rd, Centerville, OH 45458.
