MIKESELL, Mary Mae, age 86, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002. She was a graduate of Fairview High School in 1933. Mary attended Miami University majoring in Art. Her father Daniel founded Mikesell Potato Chip Company. Mary was the Vice President and Board Member of the Mikesell Co. Mary founded the Mary Mikesell Foundation and supported numerous charities, including the Dayton Foundation, Dayton Art Institute, Schuster Performing Arts Center, Carillon Park Historical Society, YWCA of Dayton, Fairhaven Church, Dayton Boys Choir, Family Service Association, Florida Grand Opera, Villa Maria Nursing Center, and University of Miami Ear Institute. Mary was a member of the Fairhaven Church, Dayton Country Club, Surf Club, Bal Harbour Club, Miami Shores Club, Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, and a choir member of the Church by the Sea. She enjoyed competition ballroom dancing and world traveling. Preceded in death by 1 son, John Mapp; sister, Martha Fellows of Kettering; and brother Dwight Mikesell of Dayton. Survived by her daughter, Martha Mapp of Oakwood; son, Daniel W. Mapp of Kettering; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd. Dayton, OH and burial will be in Shiloh Park Cemetery with Pastor Kirk Lithander officiating. Family will greet friends from 2-5:00 PM, Sunday, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave. Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the charities named above.
