Mary Marguerite Peters-Olt

PETERSOLT, Marguerite "nee Johnston", passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 11:55pm. Marguerite graduated from Sidney High School in 1938 and moved to Dayton in 1941. She worked in the dental office for her brother, Dr. Wilbur Johnston, for almost 35 years and made many friends. Marguerite enjoyed playing golf, traveling, knitting and belonged to several Bridge clubs. She enjoyed watching all the games that her family participated in, especially baseball. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 55 years. Preceded in death by parents, Millard E. and Bertha (Fletcher) Johnston; brothers, Harold "Hal" and Ralph Johnston; and husband, John F. Peters who passed away in 1982. Survived by husband, Kurtis E. Olt whom she married in 1993; brother, Dr. Wilbur Johnston (Letitia) of Centerville; sons, Thomas L. Peters (Betty) of Tipp City, John W. Peters (Dianna) of Jacksonville, FL.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Peters (Cheryl) of Tipp City, Gregory Peters (Lynne) of Naples, FL, Debra Hines (Roger) of Troy, Christine Hammond (Doug) of Brookville, Joanna Avery (Scott) of Vienna, VA, and Amanda Randles (Edward) of Cambridge, MA; step-children, Kurtis F. Olt of Centerville, Kathleen Phillips of Columbus; step grandchildren April Olt of Columbus, Heather Olt of Los Angeles, CA, Jenny Swope (Adam) of Logan, and Rachel Hedrick of Columbus. She leaves great-grandchildren Heather Burns (Rob) of Tipp City, Christopher and Paige Peters of Tipp City, Scott and Jonathan McMahon of Troy, and Thomas Gough of Brookville; and step great-grandchildren Hannah, Gavin and Izaac Swope of Logan and Zephyr Hedrick of Columbus. Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429 with a visitation held two hours before the service. Burial following at David's Cemetery. Pastor Jamie Vannoy of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
