Mary (Mcintyre) Conway

CONWAY, Mary (McIntyre), of Kettering was called home to God on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 and was reunited with her husband of 53 years. Born in Dubuque, IL on Aug. 30, 1927, she graduated from Aquin High School (1945) Freeport, IL and attended the University of New Mexico. Mary worked for the Dept of Navy during WWII and continued her career at Wright-Patt AF Base until retirement in 1992. Her husband, her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She also enjoyed meeting her friends at the Kettering Recreation Center for water aerobics. Her gardens were a constant passion in her life and lovingly attended to her flowers and the birds. Preceding her in death were parents Lucille and Joseph McIntyre, her husband Joseph Scott Conway on Feb. 24, 2009 and her brothers, Clarence and Joseph McIntyre. Mary is survived by 6 children, her daughters Trish (Charles) Shepard of Colleyville, TX, Maureen Conway of Kettering, Sharon Conway of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kaleen (George) Fry of Colorado Springs, CO; sons, Michael Conway of Centerville, and Kevin "Casey" (Barb) Conway of Grayslake, IL; and 11 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Richard, Donald, Thomas and David McIntyre and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 4-6:00 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on May 9th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 229 W. Washington Place, Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aquin High School, 1419 S. Galena Ave., Freeport, IL, 61032, Attn: Mary Conway Memorial, www.aquinschools.org.
