PHILLIANS, Max B., age 84 of Inverness, FL, formerly of Dayton, OH, died on January 16, 2006. Max was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, FL. He was a graduate of Otterbein College in Westerville, OH and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Max was a teacher for over 30 years, 19 of which were spent teaching at Xenia High School. As a hobby, Max enjoyed training horses and racing harness horses. He was preceded in death by his sister, Madene Phillians and his parents, Arthur and Mae Phillians. Max is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Fanny B. Phillians of Inverness, FL; his daughter, Lynn and her husband Bob Thompson of Springboro, OH; and 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Emily Thompson both of Dallas, TX. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 2PM at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton with Rev. Ken Howard officiating with the entombment immediately following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made in Max’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, 206 Washington Ave., Inverness, FL 34450 or St. Michael’s Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 West Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461.
