Maxine A. Yike

YIKE, Maxine A. (nee Stephenson), age 78, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. Maxine was born on February 7, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Beulah Stephenson; and her husband Bill, who died in 1999; and her son Bill III. Maxine and Bill were married 47 years. She is survived by her son Ed and his wife Pam (Morgan); daughter-in-law Jayne Yike (Schwartz); five grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Rachel, Anna and Zachary Yike. Maxine was a Nanny to Morgan Reagans for many years. She is also survived by her brother Gene Stephenson and his wife Mert; sister-in-law Pat Aicher and her niece and nephews and their families. A graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, a class of 50, and Miami Jacobs Business College. Maxine took many classes at Wright State and Sinclair just to keep busy and to learn all she could in her lifetime. She worked at Prass Elementary School, tutoring and working in the clinic. She enjoyed working with Special Children. Maxine also worked at the Athletic Events at Fairmont High School. Maxine was a 50 year member of Chapter 555, Belmont Order of Eastern Star, belongs to Via de Cristo, Hospice Group and Kettering Noon Optimist and was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she tutored children after school. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday Oct. 16, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 901 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 AM prior to service. Pastor Thomas Prochaska presiding.
