NEWMAN, Maxine, 85, of Centerville, passed away after a brief illness, November 4, 2010.
Born October 26, 1925, in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Frank and Agnes Bork. She was married for 31 years to the late Howard Newman. She is preceded by her sister Patricia Bork and William Bork, both of St. Paul Minnesota. She is survived by her daughter Nanette Guindon, and son Bruce Guindon (Sue), and three grandchildren, Peter, Tim, and Claire.
Maxine loved to travel and paint. As a military spouse, she traveled and lived in Europe and the Far East, and migrated with Howard through homes in California, Missouri, Minnesota, and Ohio, leaving her decorative touch behind after a two year "stay." At each home, she would set up a painting studio, where she would produce flower arrangements and numerous landscapes of the surrounding natural beauty, such as Yosemite National Park. She moved with Howard to the Liberty Retirement Center in 2008.
Visitation will be at 9:30 followed by a Memorial Mass at St Francis of Assisi at 10:30AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Vincent de Paul, http://www.stvincentdayton.org.
