STAMPER, JR., Maxwell Hammond, 87, of Oakwood, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Oakwood Rotary Club, The Dayton Bar Association, Masons and the Dayton DYAC. Max is survived by his children, Dr. B. Maxwell Stamper, New York, NY; Robert Hammond Stamper and Joan Stamper-Elking from Oakwood; Christopher Hillman Stamper and wife Sharon Schuh from West Carrollton; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hillman Hevey from Bethesda, MD. He is also survived by grandchildren, Genevieve Clare Stamper, New York, NY; Gwendolyn Amelia Stamper of New Jersey; Jonathan Maxwell Elking and Jason Robert Elking of Oakwood; step grandchildren, John Van Gundy, Meagan Rutan and Kelly Collinsworth, all from the Dayton area.Funeral services will be Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 111 West Monument Ave. with Dr. Rodney Kennedy officiating.
