AYERS, Michael Glenn, 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, surrounded by his family. Born May 3, 1953 to Ethel Joan and Charles Glenn Ayers, he is preceded in death by his mother. Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan (Fish), son and daughter in-law Michael L. and Jennifer (Schlater) Ayers, and their children Gavin and Victoria, daughter Emily Ayers and Paul Curley, father Glenn and brother Joe, as well as many close friends and family. Mike attended Belmont High School and Wright State University and is a member of Beta Phi Omega fraternity. He faithfully supported the university as a member of their Alumni Association, Heritage Societies, and proud contributor to Wright State Athletics. Mike had many interests and talents but dedicated his life to building and nurturing his company, Applied Mechanical Systems, Inc., his employees, and their families as President and CEO. Mike was past president of Associated Builders and Contractors and was very accomplished and well respected in the local construction industry family. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Lake Lorelei Property Owners Association. He supported Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed spending his time outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. Mike will be deeply missed as an incredibly generous and loyal friend, loving husband, father, and grandfather. A visitation will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2:00-5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 12:00pm at St. Albert the Great, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Applied Mechanical Systems Foundation, "Helping Our Own Fund" 5598 Wolf Creek Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45426, which Mike established as a caring gesture to his many dedicated employees.
