Michael Major

MAJOR, Michael E., age 57, died unexpectedly at his Kettering, Ohio home Thursday, November 24, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mamie, and a sister, Ivy Mae Major. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Sue (Hendrix) Major. He leaves behind two children, Stacie (Chris) Doench and Brandon (Annetta) Major; five grandchildren, Mikaela Gene, Grant Nicholas, Tyler Lee, Aubrey Olivia and Owen Michael; a brother, Billy Major, and a sister, Rebecca Holler; countless nieces, nephews, friends and family. Mike was born August 3, 1948, and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a corpman in the United States Navy and bravely served with the Marines in Vietnam. He retired in January 2004 after 21 years with the Iams Company in Dayton, Ohio. His presence will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live in our hearts always. Family will receive friends, Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at St. Albert the Great Church with Father James Manning officiating. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
