DUFF, Michael R. passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 after battling brain cancer. Mike was born in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa on July 21, 1955 to Robert and Dorothy (nee May) Duff.
He attended Oakwood High School and Lincoln College. Mike's career was spent working in theatre as a stage hand. He was a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local #66. Mike also worked for Montgomery County for 10 years as production manager and helped to launch Riverscape and many venues in the Dayton area. His great sense of humor will be missed by his family and the Friday Group at Flanagan's Pub.
Besides his parents, Mike is survived by his sister, Kathryn (Jeff) Hardie and brothers, Thomas (Kim) and David Duff. Mike never married but considered his nephews and nieces, Johnathan, Connor, Emily, Riley, Sara and Caroline his family.
Family will greet friends from 1:003:00pm on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. All are invited to a reception following the burial at Mike's favorite hangout, Flanagan's Pub, 101 E. Stewart St., Dayton.
The family wishes to thank the many medical professionals at Miami Valley Hospital and Hospice of Dayton for their excellent care. Gifts in Mike's memory may be made to Dayton Culture Works, 126 N Main St # 210, Dayton, OH 45402.
