Mildred “Millie” S. Westbeld, age 93, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Millie was born on December 1, 1931, to Joseph and Josephine Scheblo, in Piqua, OH. A graduate of North Ridge High School, she later moved to Kettering, where she raised her family. During this time, she and her husband, Robert, enjoyed family camping trips with their children. Throughout her life, she loved nothing more than spending time with family. Millie was an active member of her church, joining the congregation at Church of the Ascension in 1962, where she volunteered her time at countless festivals and bingo nights. She also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and reading in her spare time.
Along with her parents, Millie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; sisters, Evelyn “Toots” Bedard and Dorothy Carson; brother, Edward Scheblo; and daughter, Peggy Westbeld. She is survived by her sister, Helen Morrow; daughters, Kathy (Bryan) Kucsmus, Robbie (Bob) Dow, and Gina (Mark) Talbott; son, Bob (Angie) Westbeld, Jr.; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, at 11:00am at Church of the Ascension in Kettering. Family will greet friends and family for a brief visitation at the church, beginning at 10:00 until the time of mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
