77, of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, January 9, 2004. He was born November 9, 1926 in Elkins, W. Va., the son of Edna Marie (Sage) and Thomas E. Stockert. Following his WWII service with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater, Bill worked as a dairy farmer and a coal mine foreman in West Virginia. In Ohio, he worked at Advance Foundry and National City Bank. He also owned and operated Macko. Bill was a devoted husband and father who is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Orrahood) and their daughters Sue Sawyer (Marc) of Oakwood, Sandra Jo Yost (Karl) of Washington Twp, Billye Stockert of Beavercreek and Boni Puckett (John) of Fairborn. His surviving siblings are Marie Ayers of W. Miffin, PA., Richard Stockert of Columbus, OH and Timothy Stockert of Raleigh, NC. He was preceded in death by his only son, David and his brother, Thomas. Missing their grandfather will be Andy Yost (Angie), Alex and Mary Sawyer, Chaz and Cassie Lewis, Jodie and Johnny Puckett and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 13, 2004 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Darlene Hensley officiating. Burial in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. The family will greet friends from 5-7 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 or the Dayton Arthritis and Osteoporosis Foundation, 3490 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429.
