Millard Duff

DUFF, Millard, age 82, of Kettering passed away Monday, August 28, 2006 at his residence. Our hearts are broken, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousins and a dear friend passed on to his rewards for he will have many. A wonderful man will not be easily forgotten. We mourn him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adron and Ann Duff; 2 brothers, Carl and Harry Duff; 1 sister, Sue Kochendorfer. He is survived by his wife Frances (Hank) Duff; 2 daughers, Kathy (Les) Garber, and Rhonda Stewart; 1 son, David Paul Mantia; 1 sister, Sally (Gil) Smith; special brother-in law, Park B. Nunley; 2 special granddaughters, Susan and Jennifer Mantia who were so much a part of his life; nephews, Gary (Pat) Duff, Michael (Debbie) Mantia; nieces, Jerry Ray (Steve) Casteel , Lisa (Willie) Combs, Nora (Caleb) Bowling, Anna (Jackie) Johnson, Sheila (Mark) Combs, and Wade (Connie) Robertson. H was a great uncle to all of them and their children. A special place in his heart were the Abner boys, Charlie, Ronnie and Marion. His many friends he loved, Bill and Adele Tooms, Paul Horner, Tom Coleman and Gus Elliot. He loved Tammy Freeman as a daughter and also the many friends he had at Hanks Pub. He had owned the Pub with his wife Hank for 40 years. He worked at NCR 28 years, and worked and retired from General Motors. He was a 55 year member of the Grand Lodge of KY, F&AM #939, the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Lebanon Chapter #5, Somerset Commandery #31 and the Shriners of the Olenka Temple, Lexington, KY. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 1, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Rev. Doug Surver officiating. Burial in Dayton Memorial Park. Family will greet friends from 12-2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Masonic services will be held 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
