KING, Millard Vinson "Jim", age 81, of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Jim was born on January 10, 1935 in Bracken County, KY to Leo and Alice King.
He graduated from Wilber Wright High School then went to earn his degree in Economics/Business Management from the University of Dayton. Jim proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired as Sales Manager from Miami Valley International Trucks and previously was employed by International Harvester.
Jim was a member of American Legion #598 and enjoyed golf, spending time with his grandkids, and was a huge sports fan-following closely to the Bengals, Reds, and OSU. Following his retirement, his goal was to "relax and do nothing" but spend time with his grandkids. Jim loved to vacation to Florida during the winters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Durward King and Leroy King. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara; daughters, Julie (Keith) Tatum of Columbus and Karen (Brent) Phares of Columbus; grandchildren, Layla and Sydney Tatum, and Peyton and Tyler Phares; sister, Armetta "Pay" Conlin of TX; niece, Colleen Pendergrass; and nephew, Mike Conlin.
The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 12, 2017 also at the funeral home. Burial in David's Cemetery.
