MILLER, Myrle, age 97, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Village. Myrle was born to the late Dr. Harry and Lilliam (Arends) Priem on September 25, 1916 in Naperville, IL. She graduated from the local H.S and attended North Central College and graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Foods and Nutrition. In mid-life, Myrle served a yearlong internship at Miami Valley Hospital to qualify as a registered Dietitian. She then worked at Greene Memorial Hospital for 18 years. Myrle was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was active in various roles all her life in the work of churches. Myrles hobby was covered bridging and her goal was to visit all 200 covered bridges in Ohio. In retirement, she volunteered with the Women's Organization of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Myrle also tutored at the Dayton Correctional Institute. Her interests included gardening and classical music. Myrle was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Forrest O. Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Stewart of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several cousins. Family will greet friends for a Memorial Service at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Village.
