YOUNG, Dr. Myron Hwai-hsi, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Shang-hai, China, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 76 and retired from LSU as a professor emeritus in May of 1998. A visitation will be held at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave. at Irving, on Saturday, December 3, 2005 from 8:30 AM until time of the religious service at 10:30 with Rev. Brooks Heck officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marlene Louise Slagle Young; children and their spouses, Dr. Luke Titus Young and wife, Dr. Ruth Whiteclaw Young, Linda Young Lotfi and husband, Dr. Younes Lotfi, Dr. David Timothy Young, Dr. Jonathan Paul Young, and Susan Grace Young; five grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah and Joshua Lotfi and Steven and Jessica Young. He also is survived by a sister, Dolly Lee. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Yang Yung-Tai and Yang Shu-wing Tang; and five sisters, I-hsi, Suen-hsi, Yen-hsi, Sun-hsi and Jen-hsi. He was a devoted teacher of the Bible and evangelist. He was an active associate of both the Radio Bible Class and Chapel on the Campus. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Earlier he had been a Bible teacher at Community Bible Church and fellowshipped with the Chinese Church of Baton Rouge. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.routsong.com.
