Myrtle R. Burks

BURKS, Myrtle R., age 98, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Sanctuary Nursing Home in Dayton. Myrtle was born in Tennessee in 1909 to Dillard and Cora Miller. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Bobby Burks, her husband of 43 years; Warner Burks in 1967, daughter; Virginia Smith, 2 sons; Harold Dean Burks and Ray Burks, granddaughters; Mary Caughey and Lisa Burks, grandsons; Michael Burks, Dustin Burks and David Smith, 2 sisters; Lorene Scott and Ona Davis, brother; Elmer Miller. Myrtle is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Maxine (Les) Caughey of Dayton, OH, son and daughter-in-law; Charles (Rena) Burks of Kettering, OH, daughter-in-law; Phyllis Burks of Dayton, OH, 3 sisters; Rose Winningham of Dayton, OH and Lena Todd of Chillicothe, OH, and Inez Smith of TN. 14 Grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH with Rev. Gary Favor officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH. The family will receive friends from 10 to 12 PM prior to service time.
