Nancy Lynn Gray Caples passed away on September 22, 2024 at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Gray, her father Dr. Kenneth Gray and her brother John Gray. She is survived by her son Brian Caples, her ex-husband Gary Caples, and cousins Barbara Gray and Carol Sternberger. 


She was born in Dayton Ohio and she moved to San Antonio Texas in 1977. She was a kind, generous, and loving person. She loved animals, especially dachshunds. She loved to take trips to Corpus Christi Texas where she enjoyed collecting shells on the beach.


From 1991 until her retirement in 2008, she was a Special Education teacher’s aide in the Schertz-Cibolo Universal City Independent School District. She worked at Samuel Clemons High School in Schertz Texas and Byron P. Steele High School in Cibolo Texas.


She graduated in 1966 from Fairview High School in Dayton Ohio. She also graduated from the University of Arizona with a double major in French History and English. She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. In 1967, she attended a summer class program at the Sorbonne in Paris where she completed courses related to the French Civilization.


She was beloved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to local animal shelters. A graveside service will be performed at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton Ohio.
