GUDORF, Norman B., age 83, of Dayton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly October 18th at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 6th 1932, the son of Urban Sr. and Francis (Sturwald) Gudorf.
Noman was preceded in death by his wife the love of his life for 55 years Wanda Pauline (Hughes), parents Urban and Francis, brothers Urban Jr. and James, brother-in-law Robert Bertino and sister-in-law Judy Gudorf.
He is survived by his son David Gudorf and wife Tess (Tokarsky) Gudorf along with children son Christopher Stouder and wife Julie and great-grandson Bennett. Daughter Erin (Stouder) Wolking and husband Daniel along with great grandchildren Zachary, Bridgett and Adam. Brothers Donald and wife Margie, Thomas and wife Linda, Paul and wife Sharon Sisters Dorothy Stein and husband Paul, Marlene Bertino, Patricia and husband David, sister in-law Patricia Gudorf and brother in-law James McManama and niece Donna (McManama) Maas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his special buddy and grand puppy Daffney.
Norman was a Graduate of Parker High School Class of 1951 in Dayton. He enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War and served on the air craft carrier USS Randolph. After returning from his time in the service Norman joined the Old North Dayton family construction company Avondale Construction. Then years later he branched off into his own company with his partner and friend Bill Weglage to start the Gudorf and Weglage Construction.
He was a member of St Peters Catholic Church in Huber Heights for 53 years.
His hobby was his career of being a carpenter on the job and at home building and fixing things. He enjoyed watching sports and his favorites Cincinnati Reds and Dayton Flyer basketball.
Thank you to his brother Thomas for his help and friendship over the years and a very special thank you to his daughter-in law Tess for being his care giver and motivator the past several years.
Visitation will be held Monday October 24th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Routsong Funeral Home Kettering location. Church services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday October 25th at St. Peters Catholic Church, Huber Heights. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
