Tuttle, Norman L. age 66 of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Kettering Medical Center after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. He was born on October 13, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. Norman was a loving partner in marriage, a devoted father, and proud grandfather. Norman enjoyed traveling with family and friends, but was especially fond of the warmth of Florida. He was a dedicated church and community volunteer. He lived life to its fullest and will be remembered for his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. Norman credited his church and his experience on the Walk to Emmaus with renewing his faith in Christ.
He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1961 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and earned a Master's in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1971. He retired from Delphi Automotive in March of 2003 after over 20 years of service.
Norman participated in a number of organizations, including membership for 33 years at Normandy United Methodist Church, Greater Dayton Emmaus Community, the Greenwood, S.C. Masonic Lodge #91, a 32nd Degree member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Dayton, former board member of the Hope Assembly #113 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Belmont Chapter #555 Order of the Eastern Star, and a beloved volunteer tutor with the After School Program at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where he also served as Santa Claus for over 10 years.
Norman is preceded in death by parents, Florence (Battles) Tuttle and William Tuttle. He is survived by his wife of more than 44 years, Margaret (Thompson) Tuttle; daughter, Kimberley (Tuttle) Liston-Lake, son-in-law, Robert Lake, and grandson, Jonathan Liston of Oakwood, OH; daughter, Deborah (Tuttle) Nelson, son-in-law, Allen Nelson, and grandson, Joshua Nelson (to be born mid-January of 2005) of Columbus, OH; brother, Gerald Tuttle of Mentor, OH, nephew David Tuttle, nephew Tom Tuttle and wife, Alene and children; brother Henry Tuttle and sister-in-law Carol Tuttle of Madison, OH, nephew Steven and wife Martha Tuttle, nephew Adam Tuttle; sister-in-law, Nelldene (Thompson) Babcock of Columbus, OH, niece, Lori (Babcock) Hicks and children, nephew Steven Babcock and wife, Michelle; sister-in-law, Kathryn (Thompson) Ulrich, brother-in-law Edward Ulrich of Delphos, OH, nephews Matthew, Andrew and Scott Ulrich, and a host of other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main Street, Centerville, OH from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Additional visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Road, Centerville, OH, Rev. Tom Harry officiating; burial Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
