Norseer R. Shafeek

age 68, a life-long resident of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005, after battling cancer with determination and courage. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School Class of 1955. Norseer retired from General Motors. He was a veteran serving in the Army. Preceded in death by his parents, Habeeza and Sultina Shafeek; sisters, Ruth Beall, Haleema, Barbara, Helen, and Khadija Shafeek; grandson, Evan. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Beriel Shafeek; one brother, Wali Shafeek; ten sons, Everett David (Christine), Charles (Tina), William Anthony (Lynette), Irvin (Kashina), Raymond, Donald, Robert, Michael, Kevin (Debbie), and Rick (Elgin); three daughters, Sabrina (Louis), Rahneia, and Timika (Arthur); sisters-in-law, Rayetta (James) Townsend, Moida (Charles) Howard, Sarah (Fred) Addison, and Pearl Lightfoot; brothers-in-law, Quieman Freeman, of Montgomery, AL, Xonerale (Angie) Freeman; father-in-law, Raymond Freeman; special cousin, Inez Winslow and Deborah Wylie; special nieces, Rabakah and Mar-yam Shafeek; grandchildren, Nina, Brandi, Louis, Everette, Candace, Sonya, Bear, Tonya, Irvin, Jr., Azziza, Madison, Amina, Taylor, Patrick, Latisha, Lexus, Brandi, Kesha, Rhian, Yolanda and a host of great-grand nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Tina Lowery, James Townsend, Charles Howard, and Tommy Sims, caregivers during his illness. The family wishes to thank the Hospice of Dayton family for its genuine care and support. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 PM, Monday, May 16, 2005, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the funeral home with Al-Idu Al-Gaheem Imam – Masjid At-Taqwa officiating.
