Ob & Lois Childress

CHILDRESS, Lois J. (Gilliam), age 64, and Orbrey B. “OB” Childress, age 69 of Kettering passed away February 10, 2005. “OB” was a roofing contractor in the Dayton area for over 50 years and retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1973. “OB” was a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin B. Childress and his wife, Lois Gilliam Childress. He is survived by his mother, Thelmer Childress of Bauxite, AK; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Martha) Childress of Los Angeles, CA and Gary (Joyce) Childress of Huber Heights; 2 sisters, Martha Childress and Barbara Houpt; 1 brother, Marvin Childress, all of Bauxite, AK; 4 granddaughters, Denise Hurtt, Stephanie Childress, Kristine Childress, Catherine Childress; and 1 grandson, Kenneth Childress. Lois was a salesperson and a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, Ila and Everett Long, 2 daughters, Terri Ann Gilliam and Jeanie Gilliam. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Deidra (Joseph) Drumm, of Dayton and Renee (Mike) Mroz of Tyler, TX; 1 son, Daniel Gilliam of Centerville; 6 grandchildren, Shannon Morgan, Jeff Burden, Blake, Jacob, and Dalton Drumm and Caleb Gilliam; and 2 sisters, Joan StAmour of Flint, MI and Donna Bristol of PA. “OB” and Lois were members of Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Centerville, where visitation will be held from 5-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2005 with a memorial service to follow. Pastor Jim Futrell officiating.
