Opal G Beller

June 10, 1918 — November 1, 2008

BELLER, Opal G., 90, of Beavercreek, formerly of Leesburg, FL passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2008 while traveling with the "Honor Flight" in Washington, D.C. Opal was a Sgt. in the Women's Army Corps and served under General George C. Marshall in the Pentagon during WWII, honorably discharged in 1944. Opal was a member of the American Legion, Post #0598 in Kettering, the AMVETS, Post #1992 in Mt. Dora, FL and the Order of the Eastern Star #127, in Tavares, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jordan Hall. Opal is survived by her husband, Howard Beller; daughter, Janie Ferrell and her daughters, Krista, Molly and Janet; sons, John (Janie) Ferrell and his sons, Keith and Anthony; Jim (Susan) Ferrell and their daughters, Nicole, Jennifer and Sharma, and 7 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her amazing, loving ways, her quick wit and wisdom, her wonderful sense of humor and her dedication to family and friends. Opal's family takes comfort in knowing she spent her last day with her husband and 29 other WWII Veterans as they proudly toured the Washington, D.C. War Memorials. A private family celebration of Opal's life and legacy will be held at a later time.
