Oral Kay Hunsaker

Hunsaker, Oral Kay, age 94 of Kettering, Ohio died on July 19. Kay was a native of Mesa, AZ. He served 3 years in the National Guard and 3 years in the US Navy. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Mechanical Engineering , teaching there for one year. He moved to Dayton in 1957 working for Dayton Malleable Iron (Amcast Industrial). He received the award for Engineering Excellence from the Dayton Society of Professional Engineers and retired as Vice President of Amcast Industrial/Dayton Mallable and President of the Aluminum Group. Kay was also member of Pi Tau Sigma & Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineering fraternities. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church for over 50 years which he served as elder and trustee. Kay is survived by his loving wife, Jean, married 70 years, daughter, Marilyn Wightman (Greg) of Santa Fe, N.M., sons, Tom (Terry) of Springboro, OH, Bob(Scarlett) of Miami, FL and daughter in law Vicki Hunsaker of Columbus, OH. Seven grandchildren; Ben, Meredith, Philip, Lee, Lauren, Kelly and David, 4great-grandchildren; Kinlee, Grace, Eva, Mia and many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his son, Bill Hunsaker of Columbus, OH, two brothers, Barry of Texas and Jan of Arizona and his sister Carolyn Ross of Utah. Survived by brother Mark of Washington. Family will greet friends from 11:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the National Federation of the Blind in memory of her husband.
