Patricia Jane Meiring

MEIRING, Patricia J., age 78, of Centerville, passed away on February 24, 2015. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Drusy Hester and brother, Bob Hester. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dan. Also, survived by brothers, Dick (Sue), and Lee (Marge); sisters, Judy (Dale), Barb (Jim), Marilyn (Jim), Sherrie (Paul) and Vicky (Dan); numerous nieces and nephews and aunt Eloise Fleming. Pat was a 1954 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School and a 1961 graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College. After graduating from business college she gained employment with the City of Dayton for 30 years, retiring in 1989. Following retirement she volunteered at the Miami Valley Chapter Alzheimer's Association, maintaining the library of books and periodicals. She was a devoted member of the Kettering Church of Christ and predecessor Church of Christ since 1974. Pat taught Sunday school for over 50 years. Pat and Dan loved to travel and visited the State Capitals of all 50 U.S. states. They also traveled extensively in many foreign countries, including Israel, Jordan, Italy, Greece, England and France. She also enjoyed playing tennis and at one time served as Secretary of the City of Dayton tennis league. She also enjoyed and coordinated many family gatherings. The family will receive relatives and friends at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville, OH on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:00am. Her entombment will follow the services at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Patricia to the Miami Valley Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd.
