Patricia Mclaren Wakeman

WAKEMAN, Patricia McLaren, age 81, of Kettering, passed away peacefully Friday, June 04, 2010. She was born on November 9, 1928 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to her parents Daniel Alexander McLaren and Bernice Irene Engebretson who preceded her in death. She graduated from Milwaukee Girls Tech High School and attended night classes for bookkeeping. Patricia was a successful bookkeeper who owned ‘Rapid Return’ medical claim processing company. She was a passionate, life long Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. She was a volunteer at Kettering Medical Center for over 20 years and also volunteered at The Victoria Theater, Schuster Center, and Southdale Elementary School. Patricia was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church and Belmont Chapter of O.E.S. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and traveling. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband William S. “Bill” Wakeman; brothers, Jack, Bruce, and Jimmy McLaren and sister Mary Jane Tombari. She is survived by brothers Jerry, Lee, and Dennis McLaren and sisters Kathryn Krause and Janice McLaren. She is also survived by son Michael and daughter-in-law Tamara Wakeman of Boulder, CO.; daughter Karen and son-in-law Gary Forbes of Pelham, AL.; 4 grandchildren, Teresa, Adam, Eric and Kendall; and 1 great grandchild, Jack. A Memorial Service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:00AM at Central Presbyterian Church 4699 Lamme Rd., with The Rev. Dr. Dave Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
