COOPER, Paul went to be with our Lord on November 1, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 82 years old. Paul was born on April 13, 1926, to Minard and Gladys Cooper in Carlisle, Indiana. Paul married Gloria Hunt on June 29, 1946. They spent their early years in Carlisle, Indiana. Paul served as a volunteer fireman and refereed basketball in the area. They moved to Indianapolis in 1958 when Paul became employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Food Inspection Division. Paul studied at Ohio State and moved to Dayton and Toledo, Ohio to further his career. He worked in food inspection for 26 years, receiving many awards for outstanding achievement and merit. After retiring in 1989, Paul and Gloria traveled extensively and wintered in their home in Florida. Paul never lost his love for basketball and was an avid fan. He was an amateur carpenter/builder who would eagerly pitch in to help family and neighbors with projects. He loved to spend time working on his son's farm. Among his many skills and talent were leaded and stained glass, gardening, cooking and baking. Above all, he was a devoted husband and a loving father. Paul was preceded in death by his brother Charles Cooper in 1975. Paul is survived by his wife; Gloria and their two children; Mark Cooper of Ottawa Lake Michigan, Paula Cooper Delk of Dayton Ohio, two sisters; Ruth Folke and Helen Mackey residing in Indiana, two grandchildren; Jeffrey Malone and Sarah Cooper and great-grandchild Melissa Malone. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at David's Mausoleum Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Parent officiating.
