GIBSON, Paul G., Age 85, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006. Paul lost his challenge to Parkinson’s disease after 16 years. Paul, while suffering with Parkinson’s Disease at different intervals in his life, had to go to nursing homes for rehabilitation to continue the same quality of life. Paul supported the Michael J. Fox fight for more research for the debilitating disease. Paul and his family would like to express their appreciation to his neurologists, Dr. Kenneth Pugar and Dr. Michael Valle. He was still mobile and communicating up to one month ago even with many setbacks. Paul was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army as a medic. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes. Paul enjoyed working at NCR in Assembly B, retiring in 1977. He went to many events at the NCR World Headquarters Building and participated in many charities. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Glenn Lee Gibson in 1946. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sara Mae Gibson, in Centerville and daughter Janis Gibson in Centerville. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 1:30 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main St. in Centerville with Rev. Brooks Heck officiating. Burial will be a Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21 from 6-8:00 PM. Condolences may be send to the family via the internet at www.routsong.com
