LONG, Paul A. age 82, of Centerville, OH passed away on Sunday May 7, 2023. Paul was born on March 12, 1941 to the late Homer and Lelia Long in Xenia, OH. He graduated from Xenia High School and went on to start his career in the retail grocery business. Paul had a lifelong love of cars whether it was the countless hour he spent cleaning and detailing his own cars or his friends and loved ones’. Paul also enjoyed traveling and visited all over the US including up to Alaska. When he wasn’t detailing cars or traveling he could often be found boating with his family in Indiana.
Paul will be forever missed and cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceeded in death by his parents; and most of his siblings.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 19yrs, Sherry Long; children, Deborah Gray, Toni (Mike) Martin, Eric Long; grandchild, Nathan (Stephanie) Ivey; great-grandchild, Mills Ivey; sister, Betty Amole; brother-in-law, Greg (Deborah Ann) Herkenhine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Paul’s family would like to thank the staff at Kettering Medical Center’s Emergency room and surgical ICU for the excellent care they provided. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dayton Humane Society.
