MILLER, Paul Martin, age 90, of Kettering, formerly of Oakwood passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Kettering Medical Center.
He was born on August 12, 1923 in Tipp City, OH to the late E. Leslie and Lizzie Miller. Paul graduated from Stivers High School in 1941 and then went on to earn his Metallurgical Engineering Degree from Purdue University.
He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during WWII where he was stationed in the South Pacific. Paul worked for NCR for over 25 years until his retirement.
He was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church and held many leadership positions while there. He was active in Kettering Kiwanis, Criterion Club, Investment Club GO Squared and was a life member of Delta Upilson Fraternity at Purdue University.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, William B. Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Callahan Miller; daughters, Sandra Mellis of Evansville, IN and Paula (Steve) Russo of Indianapolis, IN; son, Brian (Laura) Miller of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Daniel and Elizabeth Russo and Andrew Miller; nieces and nephews, Thomas L. (Margaret) Miller, Michael D. (Carol) Miller, Richard W. (Carolyn) Miller, Donna L. (Dale) Aigner, Jill L. Coffey and Jack L. (Sandy) Coffey; and several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering.
Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial will be held at New Carlisle Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Kettering Medical Center Cardiac Care Unit for all the care and compassion.
