Paul Nelson Dunmyer

DUNMYER, Paul Nelson, age 87, of Noblesville, IN, formerly of Kettering, OH, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Carmel, IN. Paul was born to the late Stanley Milford and Margaret Louise (nee Miles) Dunmyer on December 16, 1928 in Hamilton, OH. He graduated from Camden High School in 1947 and Miami University in 1951 with a BS in Administrative Business. While at Miami, Paul was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Social Fraternity. After graduation, he served two years of active military service with the Army's 1st Guided Missile Brigade at Fort Bliss, TX during the Korean War. After his military service, Paul was employed by Standard Register Company for 12 years and then spent the next 35 years in various capacities with Monsanto Research Corporation, Mound Laboratory, in Miamisburg, OH. Paul was a member and usher at St. Albert the Great. He was active as a volunteer with the Kettering Amateur Baseball Commission, the Fairmont West Athletic Boosters, the Kiwanis, the City of Kettering and the Society for the Improvement of the Condition of Stray Animals. He was also an eight gallon blood donor with the Dayton Community Blood Bank. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jean; brother, Richard; sisters, Margaret Keating and Alice Fiehrer. He is survived by sons, Mike Dunmyer of Columbus, OH and Jim (Janet) Dunmyer of Indianapolis, IN and their children, Josh, Justin and Janessa; daughter, Cindy Hill of Noblesville, IN and her children, Nick, Olivia, and Andrea; 2 great-grandchildren, Claire and Audra and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 30, 2016 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave. Kettering, OH. Burial at David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society of the Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd. Dayton, OH 45417
