BLANDFORD, Pauline Elizabeth, age 61, died April 5, 2005, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. There are no words which adequately describe the gift she was to everyone she met. Pauline was an incredible daughter, friend, mother, grandmother, sister and wife and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was born Pauline Elizabeth Thase on August 21, 1943 to Elizabeth and Heinrich Thase. A graduate of Trotwood-Madison High School, she worked for the Frigidaire division of GM where she met her future husband John (Jack) Blandford and later worked at Dayton law firm Conway and Hall as a legal secretary. Pauline and Jack enjoyed a grand life together and their family and friends were its centerpiece. The circle of love that she created was her greatest joy and will be her lasting legacy. Pauline waged a heroic battle against breast cancer off and on since 1996 with inspiring strength, courage, grace and hope – and throughout this fight she never stopped smiling and laughing. Preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Heinrich Thase and one brother, Paul, she is survived by and sorely missed by her husband, Jack of Dayton; three sons, Scott (Martha), of Framingham, MA, Todd (Maureen), of Clayton, NC and Joel (Nichole), of Dayton; six grandchildren, Kate (8) and Audrey (1) of Scott and Martha, Connor (6) and Callie (3) of Todd and Maureen, Gage (5) and Taylor (3 mos.) of Joel and Nichole; mother-in-law, Winifred Blandford; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Evelyn Thase of Pittsburg, PA; brother-in-law Dan Blandford of Germantown; sister-in-law Cindy (Don) McCann of Mason; brother-in-law Ken (Maura) Blandford of Middletown and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday at Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren, 800 E. David Rd., Kettering with Pastor Larry Tyner officiating. There will be a viewing for the family from 11-12:00 at the church. May God bless you Mom. We all miss you very much.
