ZAHARS, Peggy, C., age 84 fell asleep unto the Lord on 25 March 2002, on the Feastday of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, in Vancouver, Canada, at the home of her beloved sister Sophia N. Kogos. Born in Corinth, Greece, she was a resident of Dayton, Ohio from 1948-1998. A devout parishioner of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, she also was a member of the Dayton Art Institute, Daughters of Penelope and active in the Philoptochos Society serving in many capacities including president. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and her husband Constantine Zahars - owner of the Colonial Soda Grill at 5th & Ludlow. She is survived by her sister Sophia, many god children, cousins, nieces and nephews in Dayton, Vermilion, New York, Des Moines, Atlanta and Greece. Funeral Services: 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North. Officiating will be His Eminence Metropolitan Sotirios of Toronto, Canada; Father Dean Nastos of her local church, and Father Peter Cade of Des Moines, Iowa. The family will receive friends at Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Avenue from 5:30-7:30 PM. Trisayion prayers will be read at 7:00 PM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Memorial Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.routsong.com.
