It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Penny Louise Kronauge, age 56, of Washington Township, OH on October 24, 2023.
Born on January 31, 1967, Penny was the cherished daughter of the late Paul Jr. and Margaret “Peggy” Kronauge, and sister to four siblings. She was a woman of integrity and an unwavering love for her family and friends.
Penny graduated from Oakwood High School in the class of 1985. Following her education, Penny became a dental assistant for several local dental practices and then embarked on a career as Vice President of Belmont Catering for the next 3 decades of her life where she became the heart and soul of the establishment, creating memorable experiences for countless individuals and leaving a lasting impact on the community she served.
She shared an incredible journey of love and devotion with her life-long partner, John Mott. Their bond remained unbreakable throughout their many adventures together, both in life and in building a successful business.
Penny was a woman of remarkable warmth and compassion, always placing the needs of others before her own, consistently going above and beyond to support those around her. Whether it was her thoughtful gifts, fun vacations basking in the sun with family and friends, enjoying her favorite music and concerts or her famous Kentucky Derby parties, Penny left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered throughout her life.
Penny's green thumb was evident to all who visited her home and her gardens were a representation of her love for nurturing life, including a deep affection for her pets and for all animals big and small. Her compassion and dedication were evident as she consistently contributed to local animal-related charities.
To know her was to love her and Penny will be dearly missed by her family, friends, colleagues and all those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her during her remarkable journey.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved pets, Gilligan, Josey, Athena, Lovey, Popcorn, and Mimi.
She is survived by her love, John Mott; daughters, Megan and Vanessa Mott; grandchildren, William, Austin, Laith, Rashad, Malik, and Yousef; siblings, Paul “PK” (Corrine) Kronauge III, Patricia (Jerry) Gulker, Pamela Marshall, and Polly (Richard) Choate; nieces and nephews, Katerina (Clayton) Webster and Anika Kronauge, Kelsey (Byron) Hughes and Kirk Marshall, and Anuhealani (Jason Culberson) Gulker; great-niece and nephew, Blakely and Stetson Culberson; and numerous close friends and extended family. She is also survived by her beloved cat, “Mister”.
A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429. A memorial service will be held at 4pm the following day, Friday November 10, 2023 at Routsong Kettering, with a memorial reception to be held following. Private family inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
