DAVIS, Pete, age 88 passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Pete was born in Dayton, OH, to the parents of Ernest N. and Loula Davis. He was the loving husband of Irene who preceded him in death; the wonderful father to Ernie (Elaine) and John (Mimi). Proud grandfather to Danielle, Natalie, Alex and Nicole. Devoted brother to Chris (Ted), Mary Helen (John) and Nick (Beatrice). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Pete was born in Oakwood, Class of '46. He lived there his entire life, 56 years with his beloved wife, Irene. He served in the 101st Airborne Division. Pete worked at Sears for over 30 years, missing only one day of work. He was a devoted volunteer at Miami Valley for over 25 years. Pete was one of God's most gentle souls. He loved to fly kites, roller skating was a love and running in 10 K's was a passion. Puzzles, word jumbles and intense Wii bowling with his grandson kept him busy later in life. He loved his church. And he was ever so devoted to his two sons and all of their activities. He did not have a mean bone in his body and always had a smile on his face. If you knew him, you liked him and he will be dearly missed by all. The family will greet friends on Thursday, March 9, at 9 to 11:00AM at the Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmont Park N, Dayton, OH. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or to Miami Valley Volunteers, 31 Wyoming St, Dayton, OH, 45409.
