Philemine Glover

GLOVER, M . Philemine (Pompo), age 95, of Kettering, died peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2007. Born January 31, 1912 in Pretoro, Italy, the 4th of 9 children of Camilo and Anna Maria Pompo, She grew up in Marquette, MI and moved to Dayton following graduation from John D. Pierce High School in 1929. Retired from NCR, Payroll Dept.., in 1977. “Phil” was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 50 years and served with the Altar Guild and Flower Visitation Group. She was a former member of the Lathrem Senior Adult Center and enjoyed many years of square dancing, playing cards, family genealogy and traveling to Italy, Canada and Argentina, where she visited many descendants of her Spadaccini and Pompo families. Preceded in death by seven siblings; husband Howard T. Glover in 1977 and daughter Frances Lee Seppala of St. Paul, MN in 1997. Survived by daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Mauter of FL; son, Howard M. Glover of GA; grandson Jan (Judy) Seppala; 6 granddaughters: Cynthia Hauck, Kathleen Tindle, Amy (Tom) Kuhns, Jody Seppala, Carrie (Doug) Hill-Harriss and Kimberly Glover; 8 great-grandchildren: Julia & Brian Kuhns, Rachel & Carolyn Seppala, Dustin Glover, Devin Richardson and Maxwell & Eliza Hill-Harriss; and brother James Pompo of Fraser, MI. She is also “Auntie Phil” –the matriarch of the family- to numerous nieces and nephews in the Dayton area, Michigan, Italy, Argentina and Canada. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 3rd for visitation and lunch at 11:30 AM followed by the service at 1:00PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429 with Rev Thomas Prochaska officiating. Entombment in Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Centerville.
