Phyllis Ann Scharrer

SCHARRER, Phyllis, age 85, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Phyllis was born to the late Louis and Verna Wollenhaupt, on August 19th, 1928, in Dayton, OH. She was a loving and compassionate mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Phyllis was a wonderful cook and loved to have fun and spend time with her family. Even through her illness, she maintained an upbeat and positive attitude. Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas, and her sister-in-law, Joanne Borkenhagen. Phyllis is survived by her son, Steven (Bettina) Scharrer; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Greg) Saluke, and Matthew Scharrer; and great grandson, Evan Saluke. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 28th, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. Family will greet friends prior to the service from 9am-11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery, in Kettering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley, 31 W Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Wellington of Dayton, especially Lisa, Joanne, and Stephanie, for all their wonderful care.
