Bennett, Phyllis L., age 84, of Miamisburg, OH, died peacefully on March 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cade Bennett, her parents, Arlene and Dennis Burton, and her brother, Jerry Burton. She is survived by daughters Terry (Mike) Baker and Brenda (Mark) Feuer, grandsons Steve (Carey) Jackson and Brad Ross, granddaughters Abbey (Todd) Whitney and Cortney (Brian) Wilson, her nine great grandchildren, and Linda Knott, her close friend and neighbor.
Born in Grayson, Kentucky, Phyllis moved to Dayton with her family at the age of eighteen months when her father went to work for General Motors. An accomplished hairdresser, Phyllis owned and operated the Plaza Salon in Springboro, Ohio for thirty-eight years. Her customers became her friends, and her friends and employees were like family.
Phyllis filled her later years with visits to the VFW, the Moose, and the casino, and with time spent with her grand and great grandchildren who were all so special to her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11-12pm, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81, N. Main St., Centerville, OH 45459, with a memorial service to be held following at 12pm. A livestream of the service will be available via Routsong’s YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Dayton, to whom the family is grateful for her end-of-life care, or to the St. Jude Children’s Fund.
