THOMPSON, Phyllis Crane, age 87, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Phyllis was born to the late Charles and Louise Kane in New York City on September 16, 1931. She graduated from Goucher College. Phyllis taught at The Miami Valley School and was Director of Development for the Montgomery County Easter Seal Society. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Jr. League of Dayton, The Friday Afternoon Club, Kappa Alpha Sorority, EAC, and one of the few female members of The American Numismatics Assoc. Phyllis volunteered for various community agencies and was a Board Member at the Butler County Planned Parenthood and Suicide Prevention Assoc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Thompson and dear friend, Henry Spangenberger. She is survived by her children, Louise Crane, William Crane; step-children, Elizabeth, Bruce, J.T., and Sarah Thompson; grandchildren, Emily & Andrew Crane, Hunter Mae Thorkelson; sister, Mary Louise Kane.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
