R. Michael Petrenio

PETRENIO, R. Michael, age 65 of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011. He was born February 14, 1946 in Comiso, Sicily. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Cecille Petrenio; father-in-law, Elbert Sparks; brother-in-law, Gene Brooks; nephew, Tim Brooks. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Wanda (Sparks) Petrenio; two daughters, Traci Walker and Toni Filia; two son-in-laws, Dave Walker and Justin Filia; four grandchildren, Lauren Walker, Lindsay Walker, Joseph Filia and Rocco Filia; mother-in-law, Hazel Sparks; sister-in-law, Sandra Brooks; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Patty Sparks; nieces, Tammy King, Brooke Sparks; nephews Mike King, Matt Sparks; great-nieces, Jessica King, Rachel King; also special friends considered family members, Dave and Karen Beaty, and Kyle Rodgers. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. Michael was a graduate of Granite City High School, Granite City, Illinois. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 assigned to Special Forces as a Frogman and served two terms of duty in the Vietnam War. He retired from Midwest Tool and Engineering in 2002 as Sales Engineer. Michael was a member of West Carrolton Masonic Lodge #737, F.A. & M., Past High Priest of Friendship Chapter #245, Valley Commandry and Adoniram Council and Past Worthy Patron of Jacob Eby Chapter # 571 O.E.S., West Carrollton, Ohio. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
