Ralph Eugene Strausbaugh

Strausbaugh, Ralph Eugene, 96, passed away March 13, 2014. He was a 70 year resident of Kettering. Born to the late Henry V. and Lehla B. Strausbaugh on February 27, 1918 in the southeastern Ohio village of Wilkesville, he moved to Dayton with his parents and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1936. Former co-owner of The Dayton Tool Company, he worked at various tool shops and retired from H & H Tool and Die. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty to family and friends and tinkering with his practical inventions. He enjoyed hobbies that included photography, guitar, amateur radio, Euchre, square dancing and travel. He was a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason in Mystic Lodge 405 and a member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Charlotte and he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Esther (nee Pearson). Other survivors include his five daughters, Linda (John) Beckman, Carol (Donald) Thomas, Janet (Mark) Kolp, Misty (Jerry) Strawser, and Sandy (Roger) Foreman. Grandchildren include Nathan (Victoria) Beckman, Laura Beckman (Josh Eldridge), Shawnn (Kendra) Thomas, Tamaralee (Luke) Hunter, Emily (Sam) Clum, Brian (Shana) Brown, Nicole Brown, David (Molly) Strawser, Daniel Strawser, and Danielle Mistyurik. Great-grandchildren include Camila Beckman, Colton McCreary, Gavin Miller, Alexandra Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Amber Williams and Alexis Zuercher. Visitation will be Monday, March 17th from 5-7 pm with a Masonic Service to follow. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 18th at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429. Burial at Centerville Cemetery following the service.
