HANAGHAN, Ralph J., a life long resident of Dayton, OH, passed away at the age of 95, on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at his home in Kettering, OH. He graduated from Stivers H.S. in 1925 and the University of Dayton School of Law in 1929. Ralph was an active member of the Dayton Bar Association and the State of Ohio Bar Association during the fifty years he practiced law. For many years he was associated with the firm of Scharrer, Scharrer and Hanaghan and then with his son in their firm of Hanaghan and Hanaghan. He was a member of the Dayton Bicycle Club, Miami Valley Golf Club and NCR Country Club. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, of sixty years, Eleanor M. (Mayer) Hanaghan; and grandson, Kevin M. Lauterbach. He is survived by his son, Dennis M. Hanaghan of Kettering; and daughter, Patricia H. (Robert) Whisler of Oakwood; five grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Hanaghan of Boston, MA, Michael Hanaghan of Sonoma, CA, and Mary Claire Hanaghan of Athens, OH, Gregory L. (Carrie) Lauterbach of Chicago, IL, Lynn M. 'Muffy' (Richard) Herman and two great-granddaughters, Lilianna and Bridgette Marie Herman of Springboro, OH. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff of In Home Care / Kettering Hospital for their loving care and dedication during the past eight years. The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services and internment will be held privately for the family only. In lieu of flowers, his family requests a contribution may be made to the charity of your choice.
