Ralph Lewis Kettering

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ralph Lewis Kettering, age 97, of Kettering, Ohio. Ralph was born on October 30, 1927, in Howell, Michigan, to Karl and Mallissa Kettering, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Earl, his beloved daughter Sheri Marie, and his son Michael Allen.

Ralph graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, Ohio, and dedicated a significant part of his life to his career at NCR, where he worked diligently until his retirement. An accomplished musician, Ralph was a talented lead trumpet for the renowned "Joe Aceto Band" and later became the owner and leader of "The Impossibles," sharing his passion for music with many throughout the years.

In his leisure time, Ralph cherished the moments spent hunting and fishing, activities that brought him joy and tranquility. He was an active member of the Antioch Temple, where he fostered connections and friendships that enriched his life.

Ralph leaves behind his loving wife, Marian Kettering; his sons, John Kettering (Debbie) and Phillip Kettering (Betty); a niece, Brenda Peck; as well as stepdaughters Vicki Head, Amy Head (Mike), Diana Cowden (Bud), and stepson Chris Johnson. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a devoted great-grandfather to fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45429, with a memorial service to follow at 10am, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Ralph's remarkable life. In this time of mourning, we invite those who knew and loved Ralph to come together in remembrance of a man who brought joy and laughter to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he shared with others throughout his life.
