Raymond F. Heidtke

HEIDTKE, Raymond F., age 82, of Dayton, passed away June 9, 2003. He was born on April 20, 1921 in Saginaw, MI to Carl and Blanche (Skinner) Heidtke. Ray graduated from the University of Michigan Business School with a Bachelor and Masters Degrees and in 1950 became a Certified Public Accountant. Ray served in the United States Air Force as an Instructor Pilot, a B24 Pilot and in the Auditor General Division. He served his country during WWII, the Vietnam and Korean wars. Ray retired in 1974 as a Lt. Colonel after serving 27 years in the Air Force. He became an Associate Professor at the University of Dayton retiring in 1981. Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Charles F. Heidtke in 2002. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Peggy) of Dayton; 5 children, Rebecca Mahoney of Galion, OH, Curtis (Susan) of WI, Penny (Mike) Adams of Kettering, OH, Polly (Ernie) Applegate of Kettering, OH and Jack (Tammy) Reese of SC; 10 grandchildren, Christi (Scott) , Michelle (Justin), Brian, Melinda (Dallas), Todd, Lisette, Whitney, Marilyn, Grace, and Joseph; 6 great grandchildren, Alexandria, Sydney, Ashleigh, Zachary, Dallas and Sidnie. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Marilyn Heidtke of MI and brother-in-law, Tom (Carol) Mundy of Dayton; nephew, Steve Heidtke and niece, Michelle Book of MI. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the funeral. The family wishes to thank the staff of Trinity Community of Beavercreek and Hospice of Dayton for the loving care given to Ray.
