BRINKMAN, Raymond H., “Ray” age 80, of Centerville passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Franciscan at St. Leonard’s. Ray served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a 1942 graduate of Chaminade High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton. Ray retired in 1983 from civil service as a logistics engineer working for the Air Force on the F-15 and F-16 programs and retired again in 1993 from TAMSCO after 10 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Ascension and a member of the choir. Ray was also a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his sister, Colette Kulhanek. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Naomi Brinkman (Apple); 2 daughters, Cynthia (Tim) Picciano of Dublin, OH and Barbara (Philip Preston) Taulbee of Kettering; 3 sons, Dr. James F. (Marcia) of Oceanside, CA, Steven of Centerville, and David (Debi) Brinkman of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren, Gina, Tony, Nick, Kevyn, Ryan, Kelsey, Tyler, Stephanie, Maria, Jackson, Megan and Matt; 2 brothers, Joe (Emmy) and Harold (Wanda) Brinkman; 2 sisters, Evelyn Bauman and Mary Lou (Ray) Ware and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005, 10:30 AM at Church of the Ascension. Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In memory of Ray, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of the Dayton Area, 1 Elizabeth Place, Ste. 180, Dayton, OH 45408, or St. Leonard’s Benevolent Fund, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, OH 45458.
