HIGGINS, Regis William, age 97, of Centerville, died March 24, 2010 of natural causes. He was born in Elwood, IN, June 30, 1912, the fifth child, second son of William Stephen Higgins and Mary Albertine (Langenbaugher) Higgins. Regis was a true gentleman, liked by all, and a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a retired Vice President of Top Value Enterprises, Inc. Dayton, OH. He served in World War II, being drafted as a Private in March 1941, receiving an honorable discharged as a Captain in the Army Air Forces. Assigned to the Pentagon Headquarters, Army Air Forces, Washington, D.C. 1945. Member of Church of The Incarnation since 1958. Charter member of Sycamore Creek Country Club for 36 years. Proceeded in death by his wife Mary Lucille (Brennan) of 59 years. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Mary Constance and John R. Loy of Seven Lakes, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael R. and Mary S. Higgins of Centerville, and Brian W. and Karen I. Higgins of Calera, AL; 8 grandchildren, Hilary C. Toma of Arlington, VA, Julie A. Toma (Paul) Trombley of Alexandria, VA, George W. Toma of Lexington, KY, Meredith T. (Jason) Moorman of Oklahoma City, OK, Ryan M. (Jennifer) Higgins of Centerville, OH, Kevin D. Higgins of Crescent Springs, KY, Robin E. (Rodney) Ponder of Helena AL, and James R. Higgins of Montgomery, AL; great grandchildren Claire Marie Trombley, Leah Elizabeth Ponder and recently born Luke William Ponder; a sister Dorothy Rosalia Richwine of Elwood, IN; sister-in-law Jeanne Brennan Meier of Winona, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, March 26 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville.
