RIKE, Richard C., “Dick”, age 92, of Spring Valley, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Richard was a graduate from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. He worked as an engineer for Delco Moraine GM Division retiring in 1970 after 42 years of service. Richard was a member of St. Leonard’s Chapel and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). He was an avid fisherman, golfer and skeet and trap shooter. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Virginia and brother, Howard Rike. Survived by 2 sons, Russell and Donna Rike of Spring Valley and Warren and Vicki Rike of Worthington; daughter, Linda Rike of Waynesville; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Hiett and her husband, Mick, Jeffrey and his wife, Estela, Justin and Jaclyn Rike; 6 great-grandchildren, D. Russ and Claire Hiett, Justin, Jasmine, Juliette and Jayden Rike; sister, Hazel Plumpe of Port Charles, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, February 23 at St. Leonard’s Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville with Father Joe Rigali officiating. Entombment in Woodland Mausoleum. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH. 45420.
