Richard D. Collins, Jr.

COLLINS, Richard D., Jr., age 70, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Rick retired after 40 years of service for the United States Government (USPS). He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was a Dayton Police Officer for 6 years. Rick enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard D., Sr. and Jean A. Collins and brother, Robert K. Collins. Rick is survived by his loving family, Veronika Parker; daughter, Cheyenne; step-daughter, Vogalinda Davis; sons, Richard D. III, Eric N. and Cody C. Collins; step-son, Aleksandros Burton; his grandchildren; sister, Nancy A. (Michael) Blair and Elaine J. O'Neil; brothers, Rodney G. and Craig C. Collins and a host of other relatives and dear friends. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Vogalinde for her loving care she gave to Rick. Family will greet friends from 11:00am-12:30pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH. A funeral service will follow at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial at Dayton National Cemetery.
